As festival season approaches, Pep Merch takes a look at some of the best music festival branding design. Who is selling out their festival merchandise and what commercial brands do they have relationships with? What music festival is in your top ten? Why not leave us a comment.
From Glastonbury to Primavera Sound, let’s have a look at some of Pep Merch favourites.
Barcelona Beach Festival: 15th July 2017, Platja del Fòrum i Parc de la Pau, Barcelona
The Barcelona Beach festival attracts around a whopping 40,000 EDM festival goes from around the globe, descending on Barcelona for a weekend of sun, fun and raving. BBF is one of the biggest EDM festivals in Europe and pull in big names such as Hardwell, Armin Van Buuren, Kittens, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. We worked with them last year so perhaps somewhat a little bias, we think this industrial t-shirt and logo design has a clear brand identity. We also give them a high-five for producing their t-shirts in both male and female cuts.
BILBAO BBK Live: 6-8 July 2017, Bilbao, Spain
A very clever marketing incentive by BILBAO BBK LIVE to offer a limited edition ‘merchandise box’ full of festival goodies including official BILBAO BBK LIVE sweatshirt, cup, lanyard, slipmats, sunglasses and a discount ticket for the following year – genius! All the official merchandise is designed by artist, graphic designer and illustrator Ricardo Cavolo. Tweet at @MissPersChopped for more info about this fab Christmas gift.
Nos Primavera Sound: 8-10 June 2107, Porto, Portugal
We love this illustration and design by Barcelona based design company Desisto. This was the official merchandise t-shirt for NOS Primavera Sound festival 2015, a collaboration between the official Primavera Sound merchandise and NOS Primavera Sound.
Glastonbury: 21-25th June 2017, Glastonbury, England
Around 175,000 people attend the 5-day arts and music event every year. Famous for mud baths and it’s fair share of rain (welly’s at the ready), Glastonbury is still one of the biggest cultural events on the festival circuit. Originated by a farmer agreeing to allow people to use his land to listen to a bit of music back in 1970, subsequently it also had a big part in starting the DIY free party movement back in the early 90’s. So therefore, we can forgive the fact there has never been any need for decent merchandising as the festival really speaks for itself. It’s bright colours and authentic ‘event T’ design says it all.
